Patchwork Afghan Problem?
I can't figure this out for the life of me. I feel pretty silly that I can't.
I am knitting a patchwork afghan for my mother for Christmas. I've never made anything before. It is going to be 60 inches wide by 80 inches long. I would like to do it in 12 squares. What I can't figure out is how big each square should be. Simple math I know, but math is not easy for me.
If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it.

Lots of people get hung up on knitting math. A calculator is not needed. I think the issue is being able to visualize the problem, so drawing a diagram may be helpful if you aren't used to these calculations. I included my calculation process so you can see how I did it.
12 blocks is 3 squares wide by 4 squares high. Draw a grid of 3 squares wide by 4 squares high. Label the sides of the drawing 60" for the width and 80" for the height.
60" wide divided by 3 squares wide = 20" wide blocks
80" high divided by 4 squares high = 20" high blocks
So make each block 20" x 20"
