Anyone have corset patterns/ideas on how to make this?
I need to make a corset like Harley Quinns from Arkham City, but I've never even attempted to make one before. I want it to be a fully functional, tight-lacing, steel boned corset, not just for show. Any instruction would be amazing!

A corset, done properly, is a PROJECT. You will not find the supplies for what you need in a regular fabric store. Do a google search for corset supplies. You should be able to find patterns where supplies are sold. Steel boning comes in spiral and straight. I use spiral everywhere except at the grommet edge and sometimes the center front. You need the right lengths, as they are pre cut The base fabric needs to be sturdy, no matter what the fashion fabric might be. I use either corset twill (order on line) or poplin (which is actually available at JoAnn's). It takes a lot of fitting to get a corset right, so do not even cut the fashion fabric until the pattern is perfected. Baste the twill pieces together, press and baste the seam allowances to one side to form bone channels, and try on and tweak until the fit is right. You will need the assistance of someone who understands fit to get a good fit. You can use poly boning to determine the boning lengths and then order the correct steel bones. You might have to order bones by the dozen, by the way, so you will possibly have excess boning. Disassemble, correct pattern pieces,cut, then underline each piece with the heavy fabric and stitch and finish for real.
