Are there any companies in Colorado supplying a degradable bag solution at
this time?
We now produce a our own brand OxoGreen, a line of degradable plastic
products, maybe we can assist one with the other.
My concern with people switching to a reusable bag is that the majority of
them are made of Plastic (non-woven) and will become even worse for the
environment. Studies show that a cotton bag must be used 157 times before it
becomes an environment improvement, most are use 1/3 of that amount. In cities
or counties where the carrier bag has been banned, Garbage bag sales have
increased so conventional plastic is still getting into the landfills, unless
they are using OxoGreen garbage bags.
I wish everyone would reduce, reuse and recycle, that would be a perfect
world.
We may not have the perfect solution but as far as short term environmental
impact, we have the best solution at this time and on the longer term, our
product will degrade in 12 ??? 24 months as compared to decades.

Can I age a cotton polyester quilt/comforter?
I have a pale green cotton polyester quilt/comforter that I'd like to age a little to fit in with the rest of our home.
Obviously I don't want to ruin it! Would something gentle such as weak tea work?
Tea dying (actually, most dyes) only works with natural fabrics. If your quilt is more than 50% polyester, the fabric won't take the dye. Also, you might not want to soak the entire quilt - batting and all - in a dye solution. You could try spraying or brushing on a diluted dye in a tan color. Check the quilt for stains because existing oily spots will repel any dye you use, so you won't get even coverage. There are a few dyes available for polyester, but the colors are limited. Check out http://www.dharmatrading.com/ - they have a lot of info on dying. I didn't see anything that would be the appropriate color for what you need, but you might have better luck. Also check the Rit Dye website - their tan dye is an alternative to tea dye, for people who don't like to use tea for fear the tannic acid will damage the fibers.
