Kidston and it had been a year since I bought my first cath kidston mug. If i
ever get myself a plate rack it will be sooo pretty. And... a pink crochet
holder. Baby pink... I like it and it is unlikely that it will actually be
used as a pot holder because it's so pretty.

Crochet copy-right law?
If I purchase a crochet pattern that is copy-righted, is it legal for me to sale the finished item---not the pattern itself, obviously that would be illegal, but only the finished product that I make from the pattern?
If not, then how to do I copy-right my own patterns to protect them?
Note: I am not an attorney.
Most patterns would probably be ok. It takes time to crochet, you would probably not be fast enough to sell at a rate to even pay you back minimum wage.
If the pattern contains an image (like Harry Potter), then you may have a problem.
The purpose of copyrighting patterns ( or anything else) is twofold:
1. It prevents others (who purchase the pattern) from using a copier and selling it themselves. That is what the pattern makers are probably trying to do.
2. It protects the creator's status as the creating artist.
If your patterns are special ( and you want to market them), you might want to copyright them.
You need only place a "(c) by
