she assured herself such
fine fur was certainly perfection
at it's highest peak,
how else could something so pure
and almost narcissistic in whiteness
stay stainless otherwise,
unless she were bewitched
by a four legged God.

Frost born from
a February morning,
interlaced itself within her coat
knitted together as a weather shawl
that would surely melt
before this day would sleep again,
happily she modelled
this article whilst possible,
against the banana peels and
other waste strewn
across an alley's breast,
gingerly she pawed her way
through litter,
kicking yesterday's Chow mein
to some unknown end.
